Private Equity Associate

About the Associate Role:

As an Associate at Georgia Oak Partners, you will function as an integral part of a close-knit team of investment professionals. You will work hands-on with our portfolio companies by being a thought leader in financial reporting and analysis. You will take the lead in initial financial modeling and industry research, play a key role in the underlying analysis of investment decisions, participate in transaction due diligence and assist in structuring prospective investments.

The relatively small size of the firm means you will work closely with senior professionals and gain exposure to numerous areas of business strategy, operations and finance. This role is very entrepreneurial in nature, and can be enhanced in scope with your specific interests and strengths.

Qualifications:

We’re looking for an Associate with a strong work ethic and an intrinsic commitment to excellence. An ideal candidate will have a genuine enthusiasm and curiosity for investing; a strong understanding of fundamental business analysis; and an outstanding academic and professional record. Strong accounting and financial credentials are essential. You will need to possess analytical and financial modeling skills; a solid grasp of financial concepts; superior written and interpersonal communication skills; attention to detail; and a demeanor that enables you to contribute to a collaborative and constructive work environment. You’ll need to be a motivated self-starter with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work both independently and within small teams.

Office Environment:

We recently moved into a newly-renovated a space on the 21st floor at the Four Seasons in the heart of Midtown Atlanta. The space is modern and bright, with a large open kitchen area, private offices, a ping pong table that has seen its fair share of heated battles, and a functioning balcony with great views of Atlanta. We work harder than most, but you can also catch us downstairs at Bar Margot together when we’ve had a particularly productive day. When we’re not nerding-out on business strategy or a potential next deal, our “water cooler” talk centers around sports, travel plans and podcasts or series we’ve recently binged.
