One Community: Serving Lunch at The Atlanta Day Shelter
The Atlanta Day Shelter for Women and Children, located in West Midtown Atlanta, helps women break free from homelessness by breaking the bonds that put them there. Each woman is met by a Client Ambassador who is focused on building a relationship, meeting her needs, and casting vision and hope for her future.
The Day Shelter provides day care, showers, laundry, lunch, MARTA cards for medical appointments, medical care, life-skills classes, recreational opportunities, access to My Sister’s House for overnight shelter, and much more.
Our team was inspired by the mission of the Day Shelter and wanted to help. We reached out to our partners at Farm Burger, who were excited to join us in providing and serving lunch for 150 women and children, including a variety of Farm Burger's pasture-raised proteins, farm fresh salads and more.
Our team truly enjoyed our time connecting with our fellow Georgians at the Day Shelter, and we made memories we will not soon forget.
