Two Georgia-born restaurant concepts are heading to Memorial Drive.

The George, a 132-unit apartment project from Urban Realty Partners, has landed new locations of Atlanta-based Farm Burger and Athens-based Your Pie. The development will also include a 4,000-square-foot upscale bottle shop, although details about that tenant are limited at this time.

Farm Burger, a better burger gain, will take about 1,800 square feet on the ground floor of The George.

“Farm Burger was born in Atlanta, and we’re looking forward to joining such an exciting development between two of the city’s most beloved neighborhoods: Grant Park and Old Fourth Ward,” said George Frangos, who launched Farm Burger’s first location in 2010 with Jason Mann.

Your Pie, a fast-casual pizza concept that serves up custom pies, will occupy 2,200 square feet. It will feature a large, covered patio.

“We look forward to being a neighborhood spot with a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere with amazing pizza and delicious craft beer,” said Lisa Maclellan, who with her husband, Morgan, will own and operate the new Your Pie.

The restaurants are expected to open by summer 2017.

Farm Burger in recent months got an $8 million investment from Atlanta private equity firm Georgia Oak Partners LLC to help fuel its expansion across the Southeast.

In 2013, Georgia Oak also invested in Your Pie.

The George, named for former Georgia Tech basketball star Nicholas George Azar, will be located at 275 Memorial Drive. From its balconies, residents will overlook the proposed Memorial Drive Greenway. The apartment building is also near Oakland Cemetary and the King Memorial MARTA station.

“The George sits at the front door between both Grant Park and downtown, and draws on the strong demographics of both neighborhoods,” said Whitney Spangler, assistant vice president of Colliers International’s Atlanta Retail Services Group. “This retail activity serves as evidence of the strength of this Memorial Drive corridor.”

Spangler, Tosh Wolfe and Addy Edwards with Colliers secured the retail leases for The George.

Praxis 3 was the architect. YLH Construction was the general contractor, and Woodward Management will manage the property.
